Home is where the heart is. This Volunteers Week, we take the chance to recognise and celebrate the remarkable individuals who are the heartbeat of our charity.
A child’s earliest years are irreplaceable. Yet, when life gets tough, being a parent can become very hard indeed. During tragedy, hardship, and suffering, our volunteers empower families, making sure those years count so that no child’s future is limited.
Our volunteers’ backgrounds are as diverse as the families they support. Each brings a unique set of experiences and talents, but they are united by a common thread: a genuine desire to see a Bedfordshire where all children have a safe and happy childhood.
No parent should suffer alone. Thank you to our Home Visiting Volunteers for giving parents a reliable shoulder to lean on and space for children to play, develop and learn. Thank you to our Parent Group Leaders for supporting parents with their children’s development. Thank you to our SEND Parent Mentors for being a listening ear, helping families navigate the system, and alleviating stress and anxiety. Thank you to our Trustees, champions for children’s well-being and advocates for strong families. Together, you are building a brighter future for local children and families.
As the leader of Home-Start Bedfordshire, I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of our volunteers. Caring people like you make a lasting difference in the lives of families with young children throughout Bedfordshire.
Linda Johnson.
