At Home-Start Bedfordshire, we know that the earliest years are critical to a child’s development. Much of what we do focuses on the emotional and practical help local families need to navigate those first steps. This is why we are so encouraged by the government’s new Best Start Family Hubs in Luton, Bedford, and six more recently announced in Central Bedfordshire.
In times of hardship, when families need help the most, support should be local and accessible. For many parents, navigating the various support systems can feel overwhelming. Best Start In Life Family Hubs aim to help by providing a ‘one-stop shop’ for families, making it easier for parents to access the right help at the right time. We are very pleased that this includes support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Our charity has always been rooted in the local community, working hand-in-hand with Children’s Centres and Family Hubs, from the earliest days of Sure Start. The new Best Start In Life Family Hubs strengthen this network. Further enhancing the vital support so many families with young children need and deserve. Looking ahead, we look forward to working alongside these new Hubs. Giving vulnerable families the confidence and encouragement to access support services.
