But the reality is millions of us show up for each other, our neighbours and our communities every single day. That’s why we stand with Home-Start UK in supporting A Million Acts of Hope. This national campaign is supported by many other organisations, including Save the Children, Mind, Mencap, and The Children’s Society.
Most people want to live in strong, healthy, caring communities where everyone feels they belong. Humanity has been at the centre of Home-Start since its beginning. Our volunteers are proof that acts of hope and kindness happen all the time. There is strength in unity: parents supporting other parents. We all have shared hopes for our children. The truth is, there is far more that connects us than divides us.
In recent years, parenting isolation has become a significant problem in our society. It’s a common thread in families in need of our help. Certainly, no parent, no child should be made to feel like an outsider. Every child deserves to see their family included and respected in their local community. When we choose inclusion and unity, see our neighbour’s humanity instead of their differences, we build a future where every child can flourish.
Emotional well-being, love and belonging are key foundations of childhood. Our charity celebrates every one of our volunteers’ acts of hope in this place we all call home. Because childhood can’t wait.
