Our London Marathon Runner Elaine’s Blog

Elaine London Marathon Runner

Elaine Wylie from the MRN is our charity’s London Marathon runner this year. We are very grateful to Elaine for all the effort she is making to fundraise and train to run the marathon in aid of our charity. In this second blog update, she gives us an insight into her jogging schedule for the big running event…

My business travel has taken me to the wonderful scenery of New Zealand and there is no better way to explore a local area than setting out on a run and seeing where it takes you. New sights and sounds are a great way of distracting tired legs and allowing me to gradually build the miles.

Running Schedule

My schedule has me running 3 to 5 miles 3 times a week and then a couple of longer runs at the weekends so I gradually get use to the hours and miles that I will need to do on race day! I am really enjoying the challenge which is both physical and mental and everyone’s donations keep me motivated to achieve my best for HomeStart.

Elaine has so far raised over £500 including Gift Aid for our Family & Children’s Charity! A huge thank you to Elaine for being our charity’s London Marathon runner this year. We wish her the best of luck with her marathon running training. If you would like to show your support, please visit Elaine’s Virgin Money Giving marathon page.
